The jobs report for July was released today. In the household survey, the number of people who were employed part-time increased by 384,000 last month while the number of people who were employed full-time decreased by 71,000.

The overall employment rate remained steady at 47.5 percent.

A little less than 1.7 million workers went from employed to unemployed last month. Over the last 12 months, the same number is 18.4 million workers, which is 11.8 percent of the workforce.
